DaBaby Pleads With Judge To Postpone Civil Trial

Lyndon Abioye |

DaBaby pleaded with a judge to push his upcoming April trial date back to allow him more time to prepare. DaBaby is accused of assaulting a man who rented his home to the rapper.

It had been agreed that DaBaby would have no more than 12 people on the property during his stay, but the rapper decided to film a music video on the property and invited more than 12 people to the home. DaBaby allegedly spat on the homeowner, chased him and punched him in the face.

According DaBaby’s lawyer, he “cannot be called to testify in this matter until after his criminal case has been resolved, which will not be until October 2023, at minimum,” RadarOnline reports. “If the trial date is not continued, [DaBaby] will not be able to respond to discovery or testify without providing information that could potentially incriminate him in the parallel criminal case. The trial date must be continued to protect [DaBaby’s] Fifth Amendment rights.”
