Banga was shot dead at a Manhattan concert venue Irving Plaza just before rapper T.I. was scheduled to perform. Taxstone was convicted Thursday on manslaughter, assault and weapon possession charges.

After the sentence, Taxstone claimed “half the stuff that was told on the stand by Troy Ave — who was offered a shorter sentence for testimony — is a complete lie to protect himself from going to jail,” journalist Shawn Setaro reported.

Taxstone was convicted of the shooting and is awaiting sentencing, which will take place on May 25, 2023.

Maino put Troy Ave and his alleged fake chain on blast in a recent video posted to Youtube.

“Hate is a cancer that that can spread faster than Maino left his girl & ran out of his shoes,” the message reads. “We must work Together to save society, we must rid these scum from our community. Together, we must SPREAD LOVE AND DESTROY HATE [100 emoji],” he captioned a post which includes a clip of Maino speaking.

In Maino’s video, titled, “Maino Puts Troy Ave In His Place,” Maino says:

“The significant thing about this chain is, ’cause I don’t want people to think, ‘Oh, Maino grimey, he got his chain.’ This is the chain that Troy Ave was wearing when he got into his scuffle at Irving Plaza. And the reason why I held this chain is, not because I didn’t want to give it back, but because I just felt like maybe one day I’d have to step on him and remind him of who he really is. This chain is fake. The reason why I’ve been pointing this chain out is because you’ve been a liar since day one. You’ve built a small career on lies. You’ve built everything on lies.”

Banga was shot dead at a Manhattan concert venue Irving Plaza just before rapper T.I. was scheduled to perform. Taxstone, real name Daryl Campbell, was convicted Thursday on manslaughter, assault and weapon possession charges.

Troy Ave testified against Taxstone and said he was forced to shoot on that fateful night.

“If it’s fight or flight I’m always going to fight because at that point you could die,” he said in Manhattan Supreme Court.

“Campbell was convicted of killing a man and shooting three others during a tragic and deadly confrontation in a packed New York City music venue,” Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg said in a press release. “In addition to seriously injuring his rival and killing his rival’s bodyguard, Mr. Campbell shot innocent bystanders and put hundreds of other lives at risk.”

Taxstone is now awaiting sentencing.

In court last week, Troy Ave spoke about the night of the fatal shooting.

“If it’s fight or flight, I’m always going to fight because at that point you could die,” he testified. “I’d rather die fighting. People die from leg shots. I’d rather die fighting than laying on the ground.”

He continued: “When the shot goes off I see the light from the spark and I hear the shot. This is all happening fast. I get up and start fighting Taxstone, trying to take him, grab the gun, and another shot goes off. I put my leg up to kind of block the shot from hitting me in the face or chest.”

Troy Ave, 37, took the stand against Taxtone, who is facing murder charges, following a fight inside of Irving Plaza in New York in May of 2016.

While on stand, Troy described wrestling with Taxstone, a hip-hop podcaster (real name is Daryl Campbell), over the gun.

Here’s what Troy testified (courtesy of the NY Post):

“When the shot goes off I see the light from the spark and I hear the shot,” he testified. “This is all happening fast. I get up and start fighting Taxstone, trying to take him, grab the gun, and another shot goes off. I put my leg up to kind of block the shot from hitting me in the face or chest.”

“I rolled his body over and I’m like, ‘Banga, get up. Come on.’ I’m smacking him, like, ‘C’mon bro. Get up,’” Collins testified. “And his eyes were rolling to the back of his head. His shirt was red so I could tell he got shot.”

And Troy was well compensated for his snitching. Media Take Out confirmed that prosecutors have promised Troy Ave a one-year sentence — instead of the 15 years he was facing for firing a gun inside the nightclub — in exchange for his testimony at Taxtone’s trial.

Given that Troy Ave already spent about a year in prison, he is expected to never spend another DAY IN JAIL over this incident.
