Madonna and her model boyfriend Andrew Darnell, just 23 years old, are broke up after less than a year of dating, Media Take aOut has learned.
And now one of Madonna, 64, friends is coming forward and saying that Madonna feels unattractive after the breakup and the social media backlash she faced over her looks.
Madonna’s friend, who recently spoke with Page Six, claims that she’s experiencing a ‘crisis of confidence’ over their breakup and recent ‘ageist and misogynistic’ criticism of her appearance earlier this month.
‘It was only a very casual thing [with Darnell] so she’s not broken-hearted. It’s just that it has come at a bad time,’ Madonna’s friend explained to Page Six.
The insider continued: ‘She’s having a bit of a crisis of confidence and this doesn’t help. She had a lot of fun with Andrew but it was never love or anything like that.’
Madonna prefers very young men – preferably Latino.
According to her friend, Madonna’s self-esteem was rattled by haters that took to social media to say she looked unrecognizable at the 2023 Grammy Awards.
In response to the backlash, the mother-of-six explained that her face is fine, and that the photo being circulated was distorted and looked puffier than it actually was due to a ‘long lens camera.’
‘Once again I am caught in the glare of ageism and misogyny that permeates the world we live in,’ she wrote on her Instagram Story.
